John A. Kerger, 76, passed away on August 18, 2013, 10:14pm at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a proud Army Veteran serving 3 years in Germany. He had bragging rights for serving in the barracks next to Elvis Presley. John was a hard worker and a proud brother. He lived a fruitful life with a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Kerger and Nettie Ware Brentlinger; son, Mickey Kerger; brothers, Bob Kerger and Butch Brentlinger; sister, May Turner and step-mother, Liz Kerger.
John is survived by his children, Mike (Darlene) Kerger, Gaye (Bill) Knowland, Dona Rae Kerger, Jacki (Robert) Rose and Rob (Jamie) Cromer; grandchildren, John Michael Kerger, Paul Kerger, Shaun Slusher, Billy Slusher, Courtney Kerger, Reshae Rose, Robert Rose, Rachaelann Rose, Katie Kerger, Zach Kerger, Jonathan Rose, Jesse Rose, April Bush, Alex Cromer, Isaiah Cromer and Ian Cromer; great-grandchildren, McKale Slusher and Emerson Rose; brothers, Jimmy Brentlinger,Gary Brentlinger and Joe Kerger; sisters, Kathy Hayes, Janet Meyer, Geneva Barbour and the mothers of his children, Pat Snyder, Wanda Kerger and Jodi Kerger.
John's visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2013, from 3:00pm-7:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, North of Gene Synder, Louisville, KY).
