Joey (Joy) Marie Walls, age 70 was born in Louisville, KY April 28, 1953. She died September 13, 2023 while residing at Jefferson Place in Louisville, Kentucky while in hospice care following a long illness. Joey is preceded in death by her parents Albert Porter Gamble and Sylvia (Dennison) Gamble; her sister, Patsy Gamble Phelps; nephew, Maurice Phelps; and Hubert Hestand, her longtime companion.
She is survived by Donna Ridings, her loving sister and caregiver for many years; her half-sisters, Mary Lynn Kapfhammer and Kay Potts Collins; her daughter, Bobbie Jo Gamble; grandsons, Gerald and Justin; and several cousins.
There will be no service. She is to be buried next to her mother at St. Stephens Cemetery in Louisville.
