Joel "Skip" Anton Holden, 80, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Skip enjoyed horse racing, sports, Dallas Cowboys, Kentucky Wildcats, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.
He was born on July 29, 1943 in Valley City, North Dakota to Joseph and Mary Ann Holden. Skip was adopted and raised by Melvin and Mary Holden. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Rose Holden; parents, Joseph and Mary Ann Holden; adopted parents, Melvin and Mary Holden; two sisters, Bonnie Church and Kathy Holden; and brother, Danny Flugga.
Skip is survived by his two children, Kristina (Scott) Goffinet and Eric Holden; seven grandchildren, Devin Goffinet, Madison Goffinet, Penelope Goffinet, Holden Goffinet, Katie Holden, EJ Holden, and Keeley Holden; six brothers, Richard (Richie) Holden, Gordon Holden, Gaylen (Karen) Holden, Allen (Rita) Holden, Robert (Peggy) Arnold, and Tim Swift; two sisters, Donna (Stan) Nistler and Sherry Holden; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Graveside Service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Starlight.
