Joe Edward Wilson, Sr.

Joe Edward Wilson, Sr., age 89, of Fairdale, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose loving spirit touched the lives of many. Known for his generosity, Joe was dedicated to ensuring that his family was well cared for, and he took pride in being a skilled mechanic, always keeping his children's cars in good running order.

Joe found joy in spending time at the lake, where he loved fishing, boating, and swimming. Most importantly, he treasured creating lasting memories with his grandchildren, who fondly referred to him as Pops. His warmth and kindness will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on April 3, 1935, in Glendale, Kentucky, Joseph was the son of Charles and Lillian (Morrison) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Wilson, and siblings John Wilson, Joyce Flowers, Leon Wilson, and Delores Wilson.

Joe is survived by his sons, Joseph (Sandra) Wilson, Jr. and Jeffrey Wilson; step-son, Greg Brandenburg; grandchildren Kristie Pimentel, Chantay (Jason) Hernandez, Brittany (James) Chism, Jeffrey Scott (Shonda) Wilson, Jr., Michael (Barry) Wilson, and Brian Wilson; great-grandchildren Kayla Cook, Kyle Cook, Sabrina Pimentel, Kaliea Green, Journey Hernandez, Jason Hernandez, Wesley Chism, Connor Chism, Mavrick Chism, Esme Chism, Travis Wilson, and Braden Wilson; as well as extended family and many friends who will cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Highway. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the same location, with burial to follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Kentucky.

Joe Edward Wilson, Sr. will be remembered for the love he gave and the memories he built, leaving an enduring legacy in the hearts of those he loved.
