Jocqueline Jeanette Turner passed away at her residence in Louisville on March 12, 2025. She was born to the late William and Irma Turner on June 4, 1942. She was the oldest child of six siblings. Jocqueline attended Ahrens High School in Louisville, Kentucky where she received her GED. She had three children which required her to go to night school. She gave birth to her first son, Ronald Leon Turner at 15 years old, Gregory Lamont Turner at 19 years old and Eric Lamar Turner at 21 years of age. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended Elam Baptist Church and New Bethany MBC.
Jocqueline got her first apartment on Cecil Avenue, then 28th Street, Heck's Lane and finally 123 South 43rd Street, her dream fulfilled. She also attended Jefferson County College and University of Louisville for a 2 year degree.
She was more than just a big sister, friend, and leader!! She provided for all sisters, brothers, and friends. Jocqueline was special, smart and knew how to get the most out of every penny. Her joy was helping, serving, giving and compassion. She came up in a time without computers so her storage was her mind. She mostly kept everything and knew where it was. She worked at our family restaurant and when trials came working with family, she worked at the food stamp office for the state. Her career ended with Jefferson County Public Schools where she used her gifts teaching children and teenagers. She amazed everyone how she was able to control the atmosphere. The children loved and embraced her leadership. Jocqueline showed them how special they were. Principals and leaders adored her abilities and skills for working with our children.
Jocqueline's brothers are Maurice Parker, Michael Parker, and Donald Turner and his children Darrell, Michael, Derick, and Britt; sisters Sheila Turner and children Toya and Andrea, sister, Charlotte Kate Stephenson and her children Charlotte, Clarice, Chauncey, and Marijuana.
