Joann D. (Banet) Hauber, 77, of New Albany, passed away Tuesday evening, December 28, 2010. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany, the Redman's Club Pocahontas Auxiliary, American Legion Post 28 Bonnie Sloan Ladies Auxiliary, and V.F.W. Post 1693 Hobart Beach Ladies Auxiliary. Joann enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Joann was born on December 6, 1933 in New Albany to Catherine (Helm) and the late George A. Banet II. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Hauber.
Along with her mother she is survived by her sons, Daniel J. "Danny" Rosenberger and his wife, Mary, of New Albany, Blain L. Rosenberger and his wife, Stephanie, of Greenville, Indiana, Chuck Hauber of New Albany; siblings, Gerry Seewer of New Albany, George Banet III and his wife, Jean, of Louisville, Kentucky, David Banet and his wife, Barbara, of Radcliff, Kentucky, Darlene Coney and her husband, Don, Ronnie Banet and his wife, Brenda, and Ricky Banet all of New Albany; grandchildren, Kristy Grider and her husband, James, of Marengo, Indiana, Shawn and Brandon Rosenberger, both of Greenville, Chris Hauber of Borden, Indiana, Alisha Kirchgessner and her husband, Matt, of Georgetown, and Taylor Osborne of Greenville.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 9:30 AM on Monday. A prayer service will take place at 2 PM Sunday afternoon. Her Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM Monday, January 3, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
