Joan (Whobrey) Stumler, 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. She retired from P. Lorilord Tobacco Company after 34 years of service.
Joan was born on February 15, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Phleman and Blanche (White) Whobrey. She was also preceded in death by her son, Allen Brantley.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Stumler; children, Sharon Stinson, Paul Anthony Vincent, Christopher Stumler (Anne Marie), Kimberly Lapointe (Ray), Karen Stumler, Karla Kaye Ferry; siblings, Eyvond Shroads (Jim), Ercie Clayborn, Phillip Whobrey; grandchildren, Paul Anthony Vincent, Jr., Jessica Edwards, Brian Harrison, Michael Stumler, Samantha Stumler, Kandi Green, Benjamin Wase, Chad Stumler; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
