Jo Ann Jacobs

Jo Ann Jacobs, 91 a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 28 at Clark Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of family. Jo was born on October 4, 1932 in Louisville and spent her life living and raising her family in Louisville and Southern Indiana.

As a loving mother, she dedicated herself to her children's well-being, and her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother brought her immense joy — her wise counsel was a source of strength for her family. Jo loved ballroom dancing, playing card games, singing in the church choir, and sharing stories of her various world travels from over the years. She was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed her time with several groups of friends.

Jo was preceded in death by her son, James Joseph "Jimmy" Mann III, the father of her children, James Mann, Jr., and her husband, Jack Jacobs. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Korte (Pudge) of Jeffersonville; her sons Jeff Mann (Lisa) of Clarksville, Chris Mann (Teresa) of Charlotte, NC, and Brad Mann (Tatiana) of Atlanta, GA; brother, Donald Courte; her grandchildren J.J. Mann (Sarah Truman), Bowen Mann, Kelyn Mann (Laura), Courtney Budd (Gary), Jaclyn Mann, Dylan Mann, Kailey Mann, Kaitlyn Mann, and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home. Bringing photos, memories, and stories of Jo are encouraged. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church with the burial following at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park & Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Salvation Army, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church in Jo's honor.
