Jimmie Dean Thomas, 69, passed away on August 24, 2012.
Jimmie was born on November 13, 1942 to the late James William Thomas & Julia Maradean (McQueen) Oakes. He was united in marriage to Clora Catherine Bennett on December 4, 1963 which brought three children to bless their home. Jimmie was a proud Marine, rising to the rank of Corporal in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Thomas; sons, Christopher Thomas (Deanna), Shawn Thomas (Carla), & Chad Thomas; grandchildren, Candice, Marissa, Shawn Douglas, Gabriell, & Siera; great-granchildren, Scott & Kielee; 1 brother & 1 sister.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45290-0301).
