Jim Peavler

July 16, 1946 — July 10, 2018

Jim Peavler 71, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2018. Cremation was chosen.

He was a 1964 graduate of Butler High School. After 37 years of employment, he retired from Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. Jim was also a member of the American Bowling Congress 300 Club. He was an avid fan of Nascar, UK Basketball, NFL and he was a full-time member of the "Day Shift" at the Hitching Post where he was known as "Cigar Jim." In recent years he was the weekend shuttle driver at Courtyard Louisville Airport.

Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, Ruth Peavler, his parents, Condit and Janice Peavler, and his brother, William C. Peavler.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela "A.K." MacGeorge (Eric), granddaughter, Devin Mader, stepdaughters, Lisa Boyce-Uhrick (Richard), Wendy Todd, stepgrandchildren, Michael & Emma Uhrick & Janna Todd and his beloved pug, Sweetypea

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville (1620 Bank Street Louisville, KY 40203).
