Jesse Ray Cockrill, 87, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.
He was born on July 19, 1936 to the late Sidney Cockrill and Elnora Hayes Cockrill. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his 4 brothers; 2 sisters; his first wife, Elnora Carter Cockrill; grandchildren, Meredith Myrick, Keith Wilfong, and Robert Williams; and son-in-law, Jerry Williams.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Frances Cockrill; children, Donald (Mimi) Cockrill, Deborah (Tim) Myrick, Teresa (Roger) Kost, and Laura Williams; step-children, Donna (Dane) Smith, Ed (Cindy) Trinkle, Dennis Trinkle, Laura (Keith) Couch, and Lisa (Les) Williams; grandchildren, Brandon (Susan) Cockrill, Caitlyn (Adam) Fetz, Tony Myrick, Joshua (Laurie) Kost, Dustin Kost, and Amanda (Jeff) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Carol, Sierre, Alexa, Joseph, Mackenzie, Riley, Lydia, and Reed; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen following Jesse's wishes and a memorial gathering will be held at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Georgetown, Indiana on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN) was entrusted with his care.
