Jesse Columbus Carney, Jr.

Jesse Columbus Carney, Jr. 67, of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Norton Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Columbus Carney, Sr., mother, Eva I. Carney and brother, Sanford O. Carney.
Jesse was born on July 26, 1949. At a young age he united with Mount Vernon Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend L.C. Rhea. He worked at Baptist East Hospital and Kenway Janitor Service for many years until his health problems caused him to retire. Jesse enjoyed watching the UofL Cardinals games, singing with his family and friends and cooking his favorite dishes.
He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life, Jannette; son, Martio (Jennifer) Williams, ; grandchildren, Olivia and Martio, Jr.; brothers, Dwight and Efuefe (Jill) Carney; sister, Eva (Robert, Jr.) Colbert and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-6pm with a celebration of Jesse's life beginning at 6pm.
