Louisville

Jerry Stallworth, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, with his beloved wife, Rutha L Stone-Stallworth, by his side. Born on August 30, 1949, in Thomasville, Alabama, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and resilience.

Jerry’s educational journey began at Thomasville High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning and achievement. He further pursued knowledge by attaining his Master’s degree from Mississippi State University, an accomplishment that brought him immense pride.

Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served for more than 23 years, ultimately achieving the rank of Captain and distinguishing himself in his military career. Following the completion of his service, he transitioned into a role as a VA counselor, where he dedicated himself to supporting and advocating for veterans. His commitment to his work mirrored his character; he was honest, hardworking, and a natural leader, traits that inspired those around him.

In addition to his professional successes, Jerry was immensely proud of his family. He adored watching them grow and nurture their own lives. As a loyal husband to Rutha, he displayed unwavering love and support throughout their years together. He was not only a doting father to his children—Duane (Stefanie), Malcolm (Briche "Shay"), Barbara (Ryan), Kassandra (Fred), and Kimberly—but he also took great joy in being a dedicated grandfather to Zadie, Noah, and his additional 12 grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life.

Family meant everything to Jerry, and this sentiment extended to his siblings and extended family. He shared a special bond with his sister, Belinda (Archie) Pruitt, and brothers James, Larry and Aaron Stallworth. He also cherished his aunt, Dora Green, and maintained close relationships with numerous loving Aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends throughout his life.

Beyond his professional and family life, Jerry found peace in nature, often spending quiet moments fishing or tending to his cherished lawn and property. His love for sports translated into avid support for tennis and football games. He enjoyed traveling with Rutha, creating treasured memories together.
