Jerry Allen Dooley

Jerry Allen Dooley, 79, of Shelbyville, KY passed away on September 12, 2023. He was member of Eastwood Baptist Church, and attended Southeast Christian Church. Jerry was the Assistant Fire Chief for 14 years with the Mount Washington Fire Department and was with the Mount Washington Police Department for 5 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company after working for 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Garner and Bertha Dooley; sisters, Anita Ann Lutes and Betty Lutes; and his brother, Lloyd "Shot" Dooley.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jo Dooley; son, Michael Dooley; daughters, Gina Nichols and Stephanie Collins; sisters, Judy Stallings and Martha Baskett; grandchildren, Logan Dooley, Katie Dooley, Lacie Thomas, Anthony Collins, and Conner Collins; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 and from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY). His funeral service will be at 1 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following at Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, KY.
