Jerry B. Cleland, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 31, 2022.
He was born on July 26, 1940 in Decatur, Alabama to the late E.J. and Mae (Whaley) Cleland.
Jerry graduated from Southern High School class of 1958 and then furthered his education at Western Kentucky University (WKU). He was a residential builder and worked with Marilyn at RE/MAX Real Estate. Jerry was a great honest person, a loving father and amazing family man.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marilyn (Viar) Cleland, children; Danny Cleland (Tammy), George Michael Chipman, Steve Cleland (Robin), grandchildren; Marian Greene, Michaela Floyd (Devin), Cassidy Ashton, Andrew Cleland, Samantha Bailey, Emily Cleland and great-grandsons Calloway Ashton and Gunnar Floyd. He is also survived by his sister Anna Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Jerry's memory be made to the Wounded Warriors Project (4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256).
