Jerry Thomas Black Iii

Jerry T. Black III, 79, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, May 8, 2022. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 5, 1942. He attended Flaget and graduated from Trinity High School in 1961. He spent the majority of his career in sales and marketing for major furniture and carpet companies.

Jerry loved music and had a great appreciation for art. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Cummins; his father, Jerry T. Black II, and his granddaughter, Loren Wilson.

He is survived by his three sons, Tom (Deana), Jeff (Leigh Ann), and Mark (Devonna) Black; grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa), Michael (Macey), Stephen, Sydney, Cadence, Thane, Christian, and Jonathan two great-grandchildren, Luke and Belle; his sisters, Cindy Spears and Diane Heisey, and his best friend and soulmate, Dr. Karen Black.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville) with additional visiting hours at Epiphany Catholic Church (914 Old Harrods Creek Road) on Monday, Mary 16, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:00am with services to follow at 10:00am. Interment will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery.
