Jerry V. Arthur, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He proudly served our country for 2 years in the US Army. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 33 years and was a party leader at Fort Knox. He was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church and served as a trustee. He was a proud member of the Masons and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was born on June 17, 1934 in Wellston, Ohio to James and Myrna (Patton) Arthur. He is preceded in death by his Father, James Milton Arthur , Sr., Mother, Myrna Arthur, Grandson, Carter Borho, Brother, Jimmy Arthur, Nephew, Craig Wilkerson.
Jerry is survived by his loving Wife of 68 years, Martha Ann Arthur; Children, Debbie (Tom) Cox, Richard (Jodi) Arthur, and Michael (Billie) Arthur; Grandchildren, Jenny Cox, Cassie Arthur, Abbie Bean, Dorie Thacker, Chase Arthur, and Ty Arthur; Great-Grandchildren, Kaeson Williams, Jude Bean, Everlee Bean, Hollis Thacker, Porter Thacker, Tripp Arthur, Axel Arthur, Noralee Arthur, and Olive Arthur; Sister, Wanda Snider; Sister-In-Law, Brenda (Allan) Hallquist; Nephew, Jon-Dwyne Wilkerson, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.
His Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2023 at South Jefferson Baptist.
The family requests that contributions in Jerry's memory be made to Kosair Children Hospital and Louisville Hosparus.
