Jennifer Lynn O'Neil, a spirited soul full of laughter and love, left this world on January 22, 2025, at the age of 44. Born on November 12, 1980, in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville, KY, her journey through life was one filled with innumerable joys and challenges alike. Jennifer, a proud resident of New Albany, Indiana, became a beacon of positivity and resilience for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Jennifer's life was rich with the warmth of family and the joy of community. She was known affectionately by many as "Big-Jen" and "Thumper," names that encapsulated her vivacious spirit and unshakeable determination. A true UK fan, she brought enthusiasm into every game day, rallying her family and friends behind their team with unwavering loyalty.
As a devoted mother, Jennifer's heart was boundless. She cherished every moment spent with her children, Haley (John) Taylor, Casey (Chris) Hall, Kayla (Shane) Schutt, and Jonathon Taylor. Her proudest moments were often wrapped in laughter and love shared during family nights filled with playing cards and the renowned family bunco games. The love she poured into her children was reflected in the joy of her adorable grandchild, Autumn Taylor, who will carry forward the light of her grandmother's legacy.
Jennifer was also blessed with a circle of siblings that she adored deeply. She is survived by her sisters, Samantha (Steven) Tellez and Amanda (Jerry) Licona O'Neil, along with her cherished niece, Lily Tellez O'Neil, and beloved nephews, Dakota Keedy and Mannuel Licona O'Neil. The bond of sisterhood brought her endless joy, and she often drew strength from her family during challenging times.
A true fighter at heart, Jennifer navigated through life’s obstacles with unparalleled courage, spending 14 years on dialysis. Yet, she never let her struggles define her; instead, she embraced every opportunity to express her love for life. She derived immense joy from simple pleasures—going camping, swimming, or visiting Gatlinburg, TN. Her adventurous spirit was an inspiration, as she engaged in fun activities, including bingo nights and lively trips to the casino.
Jennifer was deeply involved in her community throughout her life, particularly with the Mackin Boys and Girls Club and the Shawnee Baptist Church. Her warm smile and caring nature resonated within these walls, where she nurtured countless young lives and shared her love for games and fellowship.
Jennifer's fiancé, Scott Hall, stood by her side through thick and thin, bringing comfort and support to her life. Their bond was a testament to the love that can flourish even in the face of adversity, and together they created a tapestry of cherished memories.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her father, Phillip Wayne O'Neil, and her mother, Sherry Jean O'Neil. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will inspire her family and friends for years to come.
