Jennifer Nichols Hawkins, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010.
She was born September 28, 1942, in Warsaw, Indiana, to Frank and Nedra Nichols. Having moved to Topeka, Indiana where she is best remembered as Penny Nichols, she attended all 12 years of school in Topeka. She then attended Indiana University in Bloomington where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Counseling. While she did teach at a number of schools, she devoted the majority of her time as wife and mother.
She was married July 16, 1971, in Beck Chapel on the campus of IU, to her husband Terry. She is survived by her husband, her son Nicholas, two daughters and sons-in law, Mack and Brooke Shwab, and Calvin and Tarah Rasey, all of Louisville. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Trinton Rasey, Whit Rasey and Piper Shwab.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, as well as her brother, William "Bick" Nichols.
Visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive Thursday, August 12th, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Make A Wish Foundation.
