Jennifer Harkins

Jennifer Lloyd Harkins, 66, of Anchorage, Kentucky passed on to the next life on February 2, 2025. She was the third child of the late Jeremiah A. and Joan V. Lloyd. Left to enjoy memories of her life are her husband Robert B. “Chip” Harkins, sons Justin (Katie), Chris (Liz), and Nick; Grandchildren Gemmalynn, Atticus, and Alexandra; and a brother James “Buck” Lloyd (Sue), all in the Louisville area. Jennifer also had many dear friends from over the years and across the miles.

Jennifer devoted her life to her family in raising three sons, all of whom she taught to read before they started school. As a stay-at-home mom she was so very proud of her boys in their youth as well as their accomplishments as adults. Jennifer was especially kindhearted to animals throughout her life, rescues ranged from horses to birds, with many beloved cats and dogs in between. She was always loving and supportive to her husband who she married while a teenager and together they enjoyed a long life full of love for one another. Jennifer loved her daughters-in-law for the joy they bring her sons. She could always be counted on to entertain her many friends with humor and a positive energy about life. Jennifer was known for her generosity and giving to those who could use a helping hand.

The family especially would like to recognize and thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff of Hosparus of Louisville who allowed her to transition with dignity and in her own way. A celebration of Jennifer's life will be held privately. For those wishing to honor Jennifer's life, memorials may be offered to one's favorite animal rescue/charity, or Hosparus of Louisville.
