Jeffrey A. Willis, 59, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
He was born on February 4, 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky to Melvin and Margaret Willis. He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Willis and grandparents, Jess and Amanda Willis.
Jeff was a caring, loving, and absolutely wonderful person. He would always be the first to help anyone that needed it, being physical help or just listening when it was needed. Family was always his number one priority no matter what. He loved to fish; in fact that was his favorite thing. Spending the day on the water with his wife or a friend that is one thing that made him happy. The other thing that made him the happiest was spending time with his grandkids he was always ready to be papaw. He liked going to work (not really to work) but to see all of the friends he had there and there was definitely many.
Jeff was the person who had lifelong friends and those bonds were never broken. Everywhere he went no matter if it was the store or in another town he would always see someone he knew or knew him.
He leaves behind so many broken hearts of people who loved him but none more broken then his family.
His favorite story was when he told people about how he met his wife for the first time many years before they were married.
She worked at an auto parts store and she was running the register, she asked if that was all he needed when he put his items on the counter he looked at her and said "Well hello darlin I think I love you will you marry me". It didn't happen right away but she did marry him years later.
He was always quick with a joke or a one liner that would make people laugh or smile.
There are so many things that can be said about Jeff but the main thing is he was a devoted family man and friend above all.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Glenda Willis, mother, Margaret J. (Richard) Phillips, children, Justin (Kasey) Willis and Michelle (Wes) Coates, grandchildren, Logan Willis, Colton and Melanie Coates, sister, Mary (Patrick) White, niece, Amanda (Gary) Gray, nephews, Jesse and Jeff Boehler, and great nephews, Gavin and Grant Gray, along with many other family and friends that love him very much.
