Jeanie Horsley

Jeanie Horsley, a beloved resident of Louisville, Kentucky, was born on April 7, 1947, and passed away peacefully on October 30 2024. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Annie (Brown) Samples and grew up in a close-knit family, which shaped her loving and caring personality.

Jeanie graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High School in 1966, where she built lasting friendships reflected her warm heart and generosity. Those who had the privilege to know her will remember her as a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a cherished grandmother. Jeanie shared a deep bond with her loving husband, Ronald Owen Horsley, whom she married and with whom she spent 58 wonderful years together. Their memories include countless moments filled with love, laughter, and companionship.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron "Pops" Horsley, daughter, Tina McCorkle, who brought joy to her life along with her grandchildren, Garret McCorkle and his wife Maddie, and Grant McCorkle. Jeanie's legacy extends to her siblings, Curtis Samples, James Samples, and JoAnn Baker, who will lovingly remember her spirit.

In addition to her vibrant life, Jeanie is preceded in death by her brother, Logan Samples, her sisters, Mary Ellen Krause and Ruby Krause, as well as her son-in-law, Scott McCorkle. These losses are echoed in the hearts of those she left behind, marking a poignant conclusion to a life rich in love and family.

Visitation services for Jeanie will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, Kentucky, 40243. The visitation will take place on November 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on November 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, KY. 

Jeanie Horsley will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to be part of her life. Her loving nature, dedication to her family, and vibrant spirit will remain cherished memories in the hearts of many.
