Norma Jean Winders, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.
She was born on April 9, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Calvin and Pauline (Gentry) Ray. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Ray.
Jean was a dedicated Clerk and Treasurer for the city of Goose Creek for many years and a paralegal for Stites and Harbison Law Firm. She was an avid U of L sports fan, especially loved the U of L women's basketball team.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jim Winders; cousin, Freda Nicholson; nephews, Scott and Jeff Ray; and beloved dog, Sally.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions with burial to follow at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Jean's memory be made to The University of Louisville Cardinal Athletic Fund.
