Jean W. Hawkins, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 31, 2014. She was a dedicated charter member of Westport Road Baptist Church and particularly enjoyed serving with the church's quilting group. Jean was dearly loved by her family and many friends.
Jean was born on October 31, 1927, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Olive and Lewis Wayne. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles B. Hawkins, and her brothers, Eldon and Sherrill Wayne.
Jean is survived by her three children, Bonnie Manning (Randy), David Hawkins (Amy), and John Hawkins (Jean); brother Robert Wayne (Lois); brother-in-laws Joe Webb and Glen Hawkins (Mike); sister-in-laws Beverly and Sharon Wayne; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Westport Road Baptist Church (9705 Westport Rd., Louisville, KY 40241), with service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Jean's name to her church by check or online (http://www.mywrbc.org/serve/give/).
