Jean Ann Phillips, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved cooking, baking her pies and cakes especially her famous Carmel cake, her pasta salad was a hit too among other recipes she cherished.
She was born on January 30, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to Benny and Mary (Green) Patterson. She is preceded in death by her Father, Benny McClure Patterson, Mother, Mary Elizabeth Green-Patterson, Siblings, James Patterson, and Shirley Wigginton.
Jean is survived by her loving Husband of 55 years, James Phillips; Children, Tara L. Britt, DuJuan A. Britt, Keith L. Phillips, Lisa M. (Chris "Big Wally") Puryear, Linda D. Fuqua, Deborah D. Harper, and Sharon E. (Lenard) Phillips; 13 Grandchildren; 22 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter; Siblings, Geraldine (Gene) Jones, Benny (Russell) Wigginton, and Kerry (Loretta) Patterson; Daughter-In-Love, Carman Griffin; Special Family Friends, Rodney and Pam Sutton, and The Thurmans, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. The burial at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at 2:30pm.
Jean's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
