Jean Kneessy Melendy 83, passed away on February 24, 2024. Born on March 21st, 1940, to Alfred and Gertrude Kneessy in Louisville, Kentucky.
She graduated from Atherton High school and University of Louisville. She was the beloved wife of 61 years of David Melendy. She was very kind and generous to everyone she knew. She loved decorating the house for every season and holiday. There were always silk flowers in every vase and every wreath had silk flowers and bows. She was the boss of the house and was always organized and always knew where everything was. She had a great sense of humor and a great laugh. She loved her knick knacks and antiques.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Davy Kneessy. She is survived by her husband David Melendy, daughter Rebecca Hicks (Mickey), son Daniel Melendy (Kim), daughter Maggie Melendy, grandchildren Sean, Katie, and Megan Hicks, Hayden and Harrison Melendy, and Rigby Melendy.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Yew Dell Botanical Gardens. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
