Jean Elkins

October 10, 1943 — March 8, 2024

Genetta "Jean" Elkins, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was a loving mom and granny who enjoyed going to bingo, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Louise George; father, Hershel Yates; sister, Geraldine Lucas; son, David Elkins; daughter, Sherry Lynn Elkins; and grandson, Brian Scott McGill.

She is survived by her brother, Rocky (Dennis) Yates; children, Debby (Robert) Elkins, Missy (Rick) Barnes, and Allen Elkins; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
