Jean Carolyn (Hemmer) Drexler, 94, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born on January 11, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, Jean was the daughter of Russ and Elsie (Herdt) Hemmer. She was a graduate of Mercy High School in Louisville.
Jean was a woman of many interests and talents. She had a passion for sewing and knitting, and also delighted in playing bunco with her friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, as well as going shopping and hunting for treasures at yard sales.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Anthony Drexler. Together, they raised their children, Eric Drexler (Deena) and Tonya Roberts (Rick), instilling in them the same values that characterized Jean's life. She was incredibly fond of her grandchildren, Sera and Tanner Drexler, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy. Jean is also remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son Anthony Edward Drexler, II, brothers Robert and Russell "June" Hemmer, and sisters Rita Collins and Shirley Howard.
Jean wished to be cremated and she will be laid to rest privately at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be announced in the coming days, allowing family and friends to gather and celebrate her life.
