Jay Edward Tyson

Jay Edward Tyson, 80, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. He retired after a successful career in food service management for several college campuses throughout the southern United States. Jay was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Corydon, and enjoyed cheering on all of the local sporting teams. He was always fond of his pets, especially Annabelle and Bane, who preceded him in death. 

He was born on June 12, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware to James and Elizabeth (Stoutt) Tyson. Jay is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sadie "Andrea" (Bumpus) Tyson; children, Kimberly Gass (Jeff), Shaun Tyson (Emily); grandchildren, Drew Nelson, Harlee Gass, Simon Tyson, Sully Tyson; sisters, Susan Kaiser (John) and Sandy Radulski (Steve); and pets, Luca and Fiona. 

Jay's wish was to be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care.
