Jarvis Lee Benjamin, Sr.

Jarvis Lee Benjamin, Sr., 82, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. He graduated from Providence High School in 1959 and went on to graduate from RETS Technical School and Kentucky College of Technology, where he was the valedictorian. Jarvis was the owner of Benjamin Service Company for over 40 years.

He was born on August 18, 1941 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Jarvis M. and Elenora (Bego) Benjamin. Jarvis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara (Chaney) Benjamin; children, Victoria Benjamin, Melissa Fisher (Gary), Jarvis "Lee" Benjamin, Jr. (Kelly), Jason Benjamin (Heather); sister, Ann Imhoff (Joe); 14 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to his family in care of the funeral home.
