Janine Harrington

Janine Banasiak Harrington, 87, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. Janine enjoyed gardening, feeding ducks and geese at Community Park, and going on drives in the countryside.

She was born on March 25, 1936 in Lodz, Poland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harrington, son, Hans Christiansen, and former husband, Tom Christiansen.

Janine is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Christiansen and Julianna Christiansen; beloved grandson, Stefan Jensen (Elena); cousins Grazyna Libich and Artur Libich; and many wonderful friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) with memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
