Janie L. Mayer, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Janie was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
She was born on November 29, 1947 in Lexington, Kentucky and grew up in West Liberty, KY until she was 7 years old. She is preceded in death by her Father, Emerson Brown, Mother, Betty Brown, and Husband, Alan F. Mayer.
Janie is survived by her loving family, Children, Gregory (Penny) Mayer, Jill Mayer, and Briana (Gareth) Wilkinson; Grandchildren, Jordan (Janelle) Haynes, Kennah (Zack) Shaw, and Kathryn Wilkinson, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). We will be meeting at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 am and go in procession to the cemetery. The Graveside service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, KY.
The family requests that contributions in Janie's memory be made to The American Cancer Society.
