Janice Young Welch, 69, passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2022.
Janice was born on August 25, 1952 in Savannah, GA to the late Ruth and Kenneth Young and lived in Louisville, KY most of her life. Janice graduated from Shawnee High School in 1970 and pursued a career as a Registered Nurse. In 2020, she retired after a lengthy nursing career at Norton Hospital and Walgreens home health.
She is survived by her children, Karen Ludwick (Richard) and Rebecca Sherwood (Matt Neff); brother, Kenneth Young (Sally); 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed cooking/baking, traveling, and camping, but spent most of her time talking or visiting with family and friends. Her memory, her unforgettable antics and the time she shared with her friends and family will be cherished.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Dr., Louisville, Kentucky 40243. Her memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
