Janice Raye (Wampler) Surratt, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022.
She was born on July 5, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Harry Dale Wampler, Sr. and Velma (Covington) Wampler. She is also preceded in death by her husband Arthur Surratt and brother, Harry Dale Wampler, Jr.
Janice was a school teacher for Hardin County Middle School and West Point Independent School and a member of Southeast Christian Church. Janice took a trip out west and wrote a book on it with all the photos, she traveled to Europe with her cousins, she enjoyed square dancing and reading. She volunteered at connection center at Southeast, was a Sunday School Teacher and most of all loved her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her loving sons, Keith (Cheryl) Swanson, Lane (Shannon) Swanson, grandchildren, Lindsey Saulman, Hanna Swanson, Jaclyn Swanson, Evan Swanson, Taylor Swanson, Grace Swanson, great-grandchildren, Jace Saulman, Sidney Saulman and sister-in-law, Barbara Lynn Wampler.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 11:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Chapel In The Woods (1407 Moser Road, Louisville, KY 40299) with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
