Janice J. Shipley

October 18, 1959 — January 27, 2023

Janice J. (Greulich) Shipley was a loving wife, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on January 27, 2023, at the age of 63.

She was born to Elmer and Agnes Greulich on October 18, 1959. After graduating Tell City High School in 1978, she attended Indiana University, where she met her husband, Capt. James L. Shipley (USAF, Ret.). She later graduated with an Associates Degree.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years; sisters, Marlene Elliott and Chris Dauby and husband, Steve; her brother, Rick Greulich and his wife, Terri; and her brother-in-law, Alden P. Shipley, Jr., and his wife, Anna. She is also survived by her stepson, Michael Prater and his wife, Cameron; grandchildren, Nathan Prater and Kala Prather; and great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Triptyn, and Daiveni. Janice also had numerous nieces and nephews and was a favorite aunt.

Janice's interests were photography, especially wildlife and nature, and painting watercolors of flowers. She also traveled extensively to the Azores and the Philippines and South Korea with her husband. Back at home, she was always taking care of her family and her beloved pets.

Cremation was chosen following Janice's wishes, and no services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Janice's memory may be made to the Harrison County Animal Shelter (3132 Hope Ln., Corydon, IN 47112).
