Janice R. (Naville) Loi, 60, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Jan was a long-time employee at Cody & Neely law offices in New Albany, Indiana. She was a lifelong parishioner at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs and was very active in the parish as a religious education teacher for many years where young people learned of her devoted faith. She helped lead many New Albany Deanery Catholic Youth Ministry retreats where teens learned from her to live their faith. Involved in the Cursillio movement at Mt. St. Francis, adults learned from Jan to be their faith. Active in the local Relay for Life, she and her family sponsored many community fundraising events to help the cause. A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, neighbor, and friend, Jan leaves a legacy of devotion to faith, a good work ethic, and unconditional love.
Jan was born on July 6, 1951 in Portsmythe, Virginia to Robert J. and Irene C. (Hess) Naville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, John L. Loi; daughters, Jana Eberle (Scott) of Louisville, Kentucky, Joni Jewell (Christian) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; and Janelle Lewis (Damon) of Sellersburg, Indiana; siblings, Jill Rowe, Judy Cooper (Tracy), Bob Naville II, (Jenni), and Bill Naville (Pam), all of Floyds Knobs; and 12 grandchildren.
Her visitation will be 10 to 8 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Prayer Service at 3 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church followed by burial in the church cemetery.
