Janice Kay Gaertner

Janice Kay "Sissy" Gaertner, 55, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014. Janice was retired from the Navy as a Commander. She enjoyed using her artistic ability to create one of a kind items for the enjoyment of others, going camping, travelling, especially to Gatlinburg, TN. Her favorite holiday was Halloween and she loved to dress up in her amazing costumes. She was very devoted to her husband and children.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Mable Lowry, son, Josiah Cavanaugh and brother, Paul Michael Lowry.

She is survived by her husband, Jakob Gaertner; children, Courtney Josephine Marie Gaertner, Elyse Jennifer Gaertner and Jakob Paul Gaertner, III; brother, Jay Thomas Lowry.

Visitation for Janice will be Friday, March 14, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) from 2pm-8pm with prayers being at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 7500 St Paul Church Road, Louisville, KY.
