Janice Faye "Cook" Beckham-Williams, 66, of Louisville, KY, passed away on September 25, 2021. Janice was born 1 of 12 children in Shelbyville, KY, on February 8, 1955, to the late Martha Lee Murphy-Beckham and Charles Beckham. She attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Janice was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Shelbyville, KY, under the leadership of the late Rev. John Cooper. Throughout her many years, she never lost faith and later joined Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. Janice married David Lee Williams in 2003 and to that a union of two children were born. Janice worked and retired from Our Lady of Peace Hospital for more than 20 years. Her personality and the way she lived her life were larger than life itself. Anyone that knew "Cook" knew not to challenge her in anything (not even in a game of cards). She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, friend and a caring sister to all of her siblings.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Wilbur, Kenneth, JT, Glenn Leroy and Edward and sisters, twins Brenda Sue Riley, Linda Lou Beckham and Deborah Beckham Thomas.
Janice is survived and leaves to witness her homegoing and her memories to cherish, her husband, David Lee Williams; two devoted and loving children, Taleecia Williams and David Beckham; step-children, Brittney and Brandon Malone; her adored, loving and cherished grandson, David Beckham, Jr; sister, Gloria Jean (Carl Payne, Sr); brother, Donald Ray Beckham; sister-in-laws, Retha (Edward) Beckham, Patricia (Wilbur) Beckham, Pauline (Kenneth) and Loriane Williams-Robinson; brother-in-laws, Brent Williams and Glenn Williams and a host of devoted nieces, nephews and close friends that were like family.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Janice's life beginning at 1pm.
Janice will be laid to rest at Green Meadows Cemetery, 3700 Shanks Lane, Louisville, KY.
