Janet Lew (Lewallen) O'Connor, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on October 2, 2016. She retired as a section chief from Western Electric in 1984, at which time she moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to be CEO of A Sonic Guard, Inc., until she was burdened with Alzheimer's. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing and loved to travel to the beaches in Florida.
She was born on September 2, 1934, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Herschel G. and Frances M. (Wilson) Lewallen. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Olis Lewallen.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Terry M. O'Connor; children, Sharon Stanley, Randy O'Connor (Jeanine), and Sherrie Spruch (Dr. Gabe Spruch); grandchildren, Kahil Stanley, Alac Spruch, Keean O'Connor, Spencer Spruch, and Abigayle O'Connor; great-grandchild, Asher Stanley; and sister-in-law, Sheila O'Connor.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her Funeral Service following at 6:00 p.m. She will be entombed Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson, Indiana.

She was a mother who was always there for her three children as they each had their own encounters with life.
She was the strength, inspiration, and guidance for her husband Terry.
God must have needed help when He took her to heaven, so he got the best.
I love Janet more than any words can express.
My hope and prayer is that God will take me to her, so we can spend eternity together.
