Janet "Jan" L. Ogden, a beloved pillar of her family and community, peacefully departed this world on April 7, 2025, surrounded by her cherished husband, Joseph "Joe" Ogden, and devoted family. Born on December 28, 1953, Jan's journey through life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family and the joy she found in nurturing their dreams and aspirations.
A proud graduate of Atherton High School, Jan pursued further education at Western University, but it was her role as a stay-at-home mother that she valued the most during her initial years. She tirelessly dedicated herself to creating a nurturing environment for her children, ensuring that they had everything they needed to succeed. Later, Jan transitioned into a fulfilling career as a Sales Representative at Bargain Supply Company, where she dedicated over 15 years of service, balancing work with her deepest commitment to family.
Jan's vibrant spirit shone through in everything she did. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to Bethany and Lance Ogden, and a doting grandmother whose heart swelled with pride at every achievement of her grandson, Brady Ogden. Jan's nurturing attitude extended beyond her immediate family; her compassion and kindness created lasting bonds with everyone lucky enough to know her.
Sporting events were close to Jan’s heart, and she reveled in cheering for U.K. Basketball alongside her loved ones. She would often find joy attending races at Churchill Downs, sharing moments filled with laughter and excitement with her husband by her side. These simple pleasures were a reflection of her fun-loving and free-spirited personality, qualities that endeared her to many.
Jan's legacy is one of love, resilience, and dedication. She witnessed the joys of her family grow and thrive, and her proudest accomplishments were tied to the happiness of those she loved. She leaves behind a close-knit family, including her husband Joe, children Bethany and Lance, grandson Brady, as well as her brother, Vincent (Debby) Miracle, and sister, Sharon Meadway.
In honoring her life, a Celebration of Life event will be held on April 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Elks Lodge #8 located at 2824 Klondike Ln, Louisville, KY 40218.
