Jane Paasch

June 15, 1926 — February 7, 2023

Our dear mother, Jane Paasch, passed away February 7, 2023 at the age of 96. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. Her contagious smile made every stranger a friend and was a well-loved member of the Christian Village Community in Middletown, KY.

Jane was born June 15,1926 in McBrayer, Anderson County, KY to Carl and Gertrude Hutchison. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband William (Bill), son Joseph and sister Dorothy.

Jane is survived by daughter Jane Ehlers(Roger), and sons Doug Paasch (Paula), Mike Paasch (Marcia) and Steve Paasch (Karen), 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, a sister-in-law Helen Jo and 3 nephews.

Jane went to Kavanaugh High School in Lawrenceburg where she met her husband. They were on rival teams with Jane cheerleading and Bill playing basketaball. They married in 1948 and remained married until the death of Bill in 2007. Jane and Bill loved their competitive bridge club and traveled the world making a lifetime of memories. They lived in Blue Ridge Manor for 50 years then moved to Christian Village, Middletown, KY. Jane and Bill were also members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Jane went to nursing school at St. Joseph's in Lexington during WWII on the Army Cadet program. She also traveled to New York to study penicillin and became a Penicillin Nurse for the hospital.

While raising her family and moving several time, she remained dedicated to her nursing career. Moving to Louisville, she worked at Jewish Hospital until her retirement. Jane was not always work minded, she and Bill would gather up their family (preferring to camp) and take many journeys through the U.S. Traveling and camping with her family, would make some of her greatest memories. In her 90's, Jane walked the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge 4 times. Jane experienced many happy years at Christian Village (Christian Care Communities), playing bridge, bingo, and card games. She was elated when she would get a win.

The family would like to thank Jane's special friends Marsa and Don, the staff at Christian Care Communities and Hosparus Health. The family requests donations to be made to HosparusHealth.org.
