Jane A. Johnson

September 10, 1931 — January 14, 2023

Jane "Janie" A. Johnson (Webb), 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

She was born on September 10, 1931 in Brownsville, Kentucky to the late Lon and Ella (Poteet) Webb. She is also preceded in death by her loving and adoring husband, Kanah Paul Johnson, two sons, Clyde Lee and Steven Ray, daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Fessard, siblings; Clyde, Grace, Clarence, Clara, Lovise and Nelda. She is also preceded in death by many close friends through life and best friend Wanda.

Janie met, fell in love and married her soulmate, "Johnnie", after reluctantly agreeing to a blind double date with friends. It all started with a magical night of dancing…..They loved to dance, and even danced spontaneously at home, teaching us and instilling that same love of dance. They were great role models, raising us to work hard, play hard and instilling a deep-rooted belief and love of God. Janie was the devoted military wife, packing up their children and moving frequently due to his military career. However, wherever they landed they made lifelong friends.

Once retired they settled back in Kentucky where they first met and both were born and were able to enjoy spending time with family and friends all the while dancing, up until Johnnie was called home. It took some time; but Janie returned to her love of dancing, spending time ball room dancing at the WOW club, VFW Post and every tea dance she was able to attend. It was these wonderful friends, her faith in God and her beloved family that made her happiest. She was loved by all of us. Janie had a way of making everyone feel special, everyone she met felt an immediate connection, and genuine friendship. She will be missed. Please take joy in knowing she is dancing with her Johnnie, again.

Janie is survived by her son, Paul (Shannon), daughter, Beth (Keith), daughter-in-laws, Carol (Clyde) and Debbie (Steve), grandchildren, Robert, Betsy, Chad, Zachary, Skye, Kanah, Gabriel, Madeleine and Kai. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Josh, Kristen, Hannah, Hunter, Alicia, Lane, great-great-grandchildren, Xander, Paxton, Everleigh, Nolan, Hendrix, Vivi Claire, Everett and her cherished cat, Baby.
