Jan Ellen Byers

Daughter, sister, mother, grandma and great-grandmother, and friend to many — a woman who loved well and was well-loved; Jan Ellen Byers, age 69, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones, on April 19th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. She was born February 25th, 1955, in Oldham County, a daughter to the late Bud and Ruth Byers.

Jan was the heart of our family. She loved caring for her home and family, gardening, tending to her hummingbirds, cooking, and spending time with her granddogs. She endeared herself to all who knew her with kindness and wit, lighting up every room.

We would like to add a special thanks to the wonderful Dr. Maley and nurses at Norton Cancer Institute — Shelbyville, who provided invaluable care to Jan for several years.

Jan requested to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held on April 27th, 2024.
