James Leslie Ward

James Ward, 77, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023. James was a proud member of the National Automatic Sprinkler Industry and Marine Corp. Association. On October 7, 1963, James proudly entered the United States Marine Corp and rose to the rank of E-5. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on October 6, 1967. James enjoyed antiques and military history.

He was born on June 24, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Leslie Ward and Anna (Bell) Rice. He is preceded in death by his wife, Becky Ward; parents; two sons, Scott Ward and Jimmy Ward; and sister, Mary Helen Elliott.

James is survived by his son, David Ward (Yolanda); grandchildren, Justen, Jamison, and Majestie; sister, Shirley Hulse; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243). His funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.
