Walters,
James E., 93, of Middletown, KY, passed away December 31, 2012. He was born to Mr. James W. and Myrtle Ward Walters on September 8,1919. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. where he was stationed in Rattlesden, England during WWII. James was a retired educator of JCPS and band director of Bell and Shelby Counties.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Harkness Walters and siblings, Charlotte Ruth Fowler and Bill Walters. His survivors include his children, James R. Walters (Jane) of Middletown, KY, Sherry Ferguson (Maner) of Lexington, KY and Trudy and the late Clayton Daniels of Street, MD; grandchildren, Bryan, Jennifer, Gene, Brad, Winnifer, Elizabeth, Kymbra, Susie and Robert Bryan and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Woodland Baptist Church, 809 N. Pope Lick Rd., Middletown, KY., Thursday, January 3, 2012 at 12:00 pm., with burial to follow at Middletown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at the church prior to the service. A reception will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Program or to the Ruth Walters Offering to Sunrise Children's Services. Donation envelopes will be provided at the services.
