James William "J.B." Robinson, 79, of Lanesville, Indiana passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Jim was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Louisville. He was co-founder of Robinson-Nugent, Inc., and past chairman of the board of Caldwell Tanks, Inc., Stemwood, Inc., and Niemco, Inc. Jim was inducted into the Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana Hall of Fame in 1998, earning the distinction of being the first father-son duo of inductees (his late father having been inducted in 1984). Jim was a S.C.O.R.E. Counselor, an investor in Rocket Man, Inc. and a past board member of Your Community Bank. He also served on the board of Kentuckiana Junior Achievement, Cedar Lake Foundation, and New Albany/Floyd County School Board. Jim was a Kentucky Colonel, an Indiana University Southeast Medallion recipient, a member of the Windsor Society, a Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow, and was toasted at the 15th annual benefit of the Rotary Club of New Albany.

Jim was firm believer of the free enterprise system and a strong advocate for young people in the community, and his words of wisdom over the years will be remembered by many. A dedicated family man, Jim leaves a legacy of faith, integrity, hard work, generosity, and loyalty.

Jim was born on May 8, 1934 in Clay City, Indiana to the late James D. and Sarah Ellen (Tiefel) Robinson. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Robinson.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 12 years, Phyllis (Eberle) Eichenberger Robinson; children, James E. Robinson of Elizabeth, IN, Kathleen M. Burrows (Bill) of English, IN and Elizabeth E. Trueblood (Todd) of Columbia Falls, MT; William H. Eichenberger (Valerie) of West Chicago, IL, Daniel J. Eichenberger, M.D. (Stephanie) of New Albany, IN, Robert H. Eichenberger (Cindy) of Lanesville, IN and Kenneth A Eichenberger (Deanne) of Floyds Knobs, IN; Mary A. Miles (Stephen) of Tampa, FL and Carrie L. Spencer, D.V.M. (Ben) of Lanesville, IN; and Terrie Robinson; sister, Marcie Carlton (Dave) of Borden; and sisters-in-law, Paula Robinson of Floyds Knobs and Jane Eberle of Louisville; and brother-in-law, Harold Eberle of Thousand Oaks, California.

He leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Richard Summers (Kristen), Kristine Dawson (James), Marissa Hatfield (Chris), Brandon and Jacob Burrows , Joseph Robinson (Becca), Jennifer Laios (Chris), Sean Robinson and Nathan, Jason, Ashley and Aaron Trueblood, Annette, Jack, Blake, Sabrina, Daniel Jr. (Natalie), Jacob (Amanda), Stuart, Jared, Lucas, Alex, Matthew, Max, and Madelyn Eichenberger, and Sally Carpenter (Scott), Holly Gunn (Ian), Megan and Ryan Gilmore, and Caleb, Mason, and Parker Spencer, and great-grandchildren, Julian and Isaac Worley and Lilly Dawson, Tucker Hatfield, Owen and Dax Robinson, KelliAnn, Wyatt, and Maggie Laios; MacKenzie and Lila Gunn and Cole, Vera, and Asher Eichenberger; one grandchild and four great grandchildren on the way; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday, October 21 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church (1127 East Broadway, Louisville, KY 40204) followed by his Funeral Service at 11 AM with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kentuckiana Junior Achievement (1401 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40203).
