James Richard "Rick" Towson, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
He was born on November 15, 1950 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to the late Major James Robert and Mary Doris "Sally" (Cosby) Towson.
Rick was a graduate of Bishop David High School Class of 1968 and then graduated from the University of Louisville Business School Class of 1975. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a well respected business man in the restaurant design and equipment industry. Rick was an avid golfer, a huge U of L fan, but most of all he loved to watch his grandson, Jack, play baseball.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Deborah Sue (Sands) Towson, daughter Jacqueline Renee Matthews (Robert), grandson Jack Robert Matthews and sister Suzan "Sue" Towson.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions East Louisville (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Visitation will also be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the funeral home.
Rick will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 12:30 pm with Army Military Honors to be rendered at the cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Rick's memory be made to Summit Academy of Greater Louisville (11508 Main Street, Louisville, KY 40243).
