James "Jim" Terrell Barbour, age 81 of Louisville, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. During his life, he touched many lives. He was retired from General Electric. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Hazel Denham Barbour; and brother, Ronald Barbour.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty; sons, Deno (Geneva), Todd (Suzanne) and Shane (Kristy); grandchildren, Brittney, Dylan, Andrew, Brooke, Jaeden and Taylor; sisters, Ilo Isenberg and Marjorie Billingsley (Johnny); and also a host of relatives and friends.
Many of you had your own relationship with Jim, each with your own set of memories and your own picture that best describes him. Jim was a loving, caring and Godly man who thought the world of his family. Our family is who we are because of who he was. Jim now has to suffer no longer and can spend eternity pain free in Heaven. We will always miss him, but some day will be with him again to rejoice in Heaven.
Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at Victory Baptist Church, 7808 Beulah Church Road, with burial to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery, Lebanon, Kentucky. Visitation will be 2:30 – 7pm on Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive.
