James R. Rogge

April 23, 1933 — February 18, 2013

James R. Rogge, 79, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013. He retired from the Kentucky Air National Guard as a Chief Master Sergeant after over 30 years of service. After retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling across the country with his wife in their RV.

Jim was born on April 23, 1933 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Herman and Mona (Meddles) Rogge. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda. Jim is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Dolores M. (Archer) Rogge; son, James R. "Bob" Rogge, Jr. (Lisa); sister, Diana Montgomery (Erle); grandsons, Adam (Lauren), Matthew Rogge; great-granddaughters, Brynne and Lainey Rogge.

Cremation was chosen following Jim's wishes. A private burial will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is in charge of the arrangements.

Contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY 40205).
