James Franklin "Jim" Plummer, Sr., 75, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was a United States Army veteran and retired after a career as a truck driver.
He was born on December 14, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Glenn and Georgia (Ford) Plummer. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandsons, Kenneth and Trevor Shoats; and siblings, Dora Patterson, Glenn, Jr., and George Plummer, and Georgia Alice Record.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy (Jennings) Plummer; children, Katherine McCroskey (Jackie), James Franklin, Jr. (Mandy), Charles (Kelli), and Scott Drescher (Angie); grandchildren, Trey Shoats, Caesha, Matthew, and Colleen Drescher, and Luana and Koa Plummer; and five great-grandchildren.
A reception of family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a memorial service and military honors taking place at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children (520 W. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40202).
